I am proud to be among a small, but growing, group of individuals that do not confuse shopping with living
Jordan Hestermann - hahaha! I ♥ this!
Shanon Rogge - Did you say shopping just kidding I'm working
Neil Whitelaw - Is it OK to buy Ben & Jerry's tonight at 11:30PM at the 7-11? Just one?
Isaac J. Conner - That's your call brother. I made my purchases the day before, to be ready. So, if I were you, I would just prepare for the munchies at this time next year ;)
Isaac J. Conner - It also has occurred to me just how incorrect my statement actually is. It makes sense if you live in the westernized world, perhaps. But the majority of the world hasn't the ability to revolt against money by withholding it, because the meager amount they have is spent on survival.
So, I guess I'm actually proud to be among a group of people that have found conscience amid privilege.
Abcar Indausa - There's an old BB King tune that goes.."I'm gonna give up on living..and go shopping instead.." for real :-)
Jules Assata - Might I suggest that if you have people for which you feel you must give a holiday gift, and have not the time or inclination to make gifts, give to an organization in their name. Heifer Int'l, Habitat for Humanity, Southern Poverty Law Center, Greenpeace are just a few. It's usually easy to find a cause you can both feel good about. The money goes to good work and not stuff. You might give a special activity- for example, I gave a young womon friend a jewelry-making session cause I have the beads and stuff and rook the time-- will be doing this again soon for another friend.
Fletcher Kaufman - "Now looka here...
I did not say I was a millionaire...
But I said I have spent more money than a millionaire!
Cause if I had've kept all my money that I'd already spent,
I would've been a millionaire a looong time ago... "
- by St. Louis Jimmy Oden, originally released in 1941. Howlin' Wolf included the song on his 1962 Rocking Chair Album.
Abcar Indausa - I think that was Willie Dixon rapping that part on Wolf's "Goin' Down Slow".
Neil Whitelaw - If I'd kept ALL the money I spent in the last 20 years + ALL the money that partners, importers, manufacturers, designers, showrooms, & clients owed me in COMMISSIONS not paid, I'd have been a BILLIONARE a looong, looong time ago! Its part of the territory of being an Independent Sales Rep or an Independent National Sales Manager or an Independent Vice-President of Sales & Marketing. Lots of Freedom, lots of money, lots of beautiful women (Fashion Industry), lots of travel to 25 countries, AND lots of opportunity to get gyped out of and ripped off of real big commissions! But I had a ball spending all the money & have had an incredible, wonderful, fun filled life. Lots of adventure & I've hardly ever been bored the last dozen years.
